River Kai is one lucky boy; he has celebrated six Christmases and a birthday this month (birthday pictures will be another post though, also still waiting on Christmas Eve pictures from my aunt). The top photo was taken downtown Traverse City, MI by my boyfriend Jordan when we went to Christmas at his Mom's house at the beginning of the month--River's first tree lighting! The next one is of River and Coliapi, her cat. This was River's first close encounter of the feline kind and as the picture shows, he was quite pleased.
Continuing down, you'll see River, Winston (Jordan's dog) and I at Jordan's Dad's family property, the "Glover Lodge", in Hart, Michigan. Closer to the middle of the month, we got to stay in this one room, wood stove-heated, no electricity needed cabinwhen we visited that side of his family near Ludington for a few days to celebrate Christmas #2. It was mild weather and better than tent camping--we even saw a meteor shower every night in between River's million midnight wakings and adding logs to the fire. During the day we wandered a mostly-abandoned-for-the-season-Pentwater, MI, where River appreciated the gazebo decor.

Back home in Midland, this guy called "Uncle Aaron" came to visit. River wasn't quite too sure what to think when he was held by this bearded fellow, but all in all he must be a pretty good guy because he went everywhere with us. *Sweetheart Grandma has more photos on her iPad of River, Aaron and Sweethearts* |

River also has been preparing for his future academic work, this time studying hippopotamuses with Sweetheart Grandpa.
*Christmas Eve was Christmas #3 at Aunt Jeanne's and Christmas #4 was split between Sweetheart Grandma dropping off mystery presents and us stopping by Christmas Day afternoon* |

| We woke up Christmas morning at Jordan's house, which was Christmas #5. The night before, after River was down, Jordan hung nearly 50 ornaments from the ceiling and a string of lights around the room, so the moment was magical for River when he walked (yes, walked!) out of the bedroom to this display, leading him directly to his biggest present. |
